Hoya HMC NDX4 Screw-in Filter
The Hoya HMC NDX4 Neutral Density Filter causes larger apertures or longer exposure times.
These filters allow for long shutter speeds even on films with higher sensitivity to represent motion in the image by blurring, e.g. in waterfalls and streams, fountains, clouds or moving cars. This also allows you to achieve larger aperture openings for a smaller depth of field, which helps a subject, e.g. a portrait, to stand out clearly from its background. In addition, they have the effect that the film sensitivity was reduced accordingly, so that even highly sensitive films (i.e. above ISO 400 27°) can be used in bright daylight. A highlight is also the feature that film and video cameras with non-adjustable shutter speeds are possible even in bright environments such as snow and sandy beach or in extremely bright lighting, while otherwise overexposure occurs.
Hoya ND filter (neutral density = neutral density)
These filters appear grey and reduce the amount of light reaching the sensor/film without affecting the colour balance.
Hoya HMC multi-layer coating (multi coated)
This multi-coated filter series is known for the fact that the reflections on the glass surface are extremely weak, suppressing stray light and ghosting even more. An average transmission value of over 97% is achieved, resulting in high brilliance and balanced colour neutrality. The Hoya HMC filter is recommended to fully exploit the high performance of modern multi-coated lenses.
